making sense of menopause

real evidence for real life

I’m a medical doctor, I’ve practiced gynecology, and I have advocated for women’s health priorities around the world. And still, when things started changing in my own body and mind in my late 30s, I had little idea of what it was.

It was perimenopause: I was shocked, and then shocked that someone with my background could be so badly informed and poorly prepared. So driven by my own needs and the drive of outrage, I did what my training taught me: I dove deep into science, clinical evidence and lived experiences - past what the internet feeds us - and have found gems, nuance, and a lot of optimism.

This is the time to share it wider.
